Bleachers + Grimes = Your Spring Soundtrack

Bleachers and Grimes have come together to create the catchy "Entropy", the tune you didn't know you needed on your playlist. This song, combined with the beautiful weather we are starting to see in Toronto, is all that is needed to keep us here at Studio 416 smiling all week.

On Our Radar: Myer Clarity

Since it doesn't look like we'll be mixing things up from the cold, dreary winter weather here in Toronto anytime soon, why not mix things up musically by checking out some under-the-radar local talent?

We at Studio 416, have recently spotted, Toronto based hip hop artist Myer Clarity, and his new music video "Growing Pains" (linked above). The song is too memorable to not have on repeat. The 22 year old Montreal native shows a more personal side of the coin than his previous work as he invites listeners for a walk through his childhood over a canvas of dreamy guitars and lo-fi drum loops. Motel Raphael's own Maya Malkin contributes a chorus that is both hypnotizing and the catchiest thing we've heard all week.

The lead single from his forthcoming full length album BYOB (set to be released April 2015!), "Growing Pains" positions itself as a indie-pop hip hop crossover, that you'll want to check out.

Have a listen, and watch the newly released video for "Growing Pains" above!

Beck/Beyoncé Fans Rejoice

Fans of both Beck and Beyoncé will be pleased to hear that a Beckyoncé (you read that right) track has been released, and it's pretty dang good.

The mashup of Queen B's smash hit, "Single Ladies (Put a Ring on It)" and Beck's "Loser" is called "Single Loser (Put a Beck on It)" and it is probably the best peace offering the internet has to offer.

Now hopefully it's so good Kanye will stay comfortably in his seat.

Bonnaroo Changes Things Up With This Year's Line-Up Announcement

Have you been not-so-patiently waiting for the Bonnaroo line-up to be announced? Well, Bonnaroo is doing things a little differently this year.

Instead of Bonnaroo releasing the line-up online, on Tuesday, the 13th of January, there will be the Bonnaroo Lineup Announcement Megathon, or “BLAM”, from 6 pm - 9 pm EST. This event involves the festival’s fans and attendees to call a phone number (1-844-ROO-2015) to find out the line-up and then announce it themselves over social media using the #bonnaroo hashtag.

The Manchester, Tennessee festival takes place on the 11th-14th of June and tickets will go on sale on the 17th of January.

Sia Releases New Video for 'Elastic Heart'

Have you ever wanted to watch Shia LaBeouf and that girl Maddie from Dance Moms dance fight (not dance battle) in a giant cage while wearing nude body suits? Neither have we!

Technically, we didn’t really know that was an option, or had the idea cross our minds even once, but thankfully Sia obviously had been thinking about it enough to make it her new music video for her song Elastic Heart. So check it out and let us know what you think.

In case you missed it, either due to your poor timing or the fact that you don’t live in the UK, the Band Aid 30 video for “Do They Know It’s Christmas” has been released.

It’s basically what you were expecting of the 30th anniversary of Band Aid in that it’s essentially the same video but in better quality and with an updated list of participants, except for you Bono, you go Bono. Not only does it support a great cause (raising money towards the Ebola crisis in Western Africa) but it also features *big breath* … Ed Sheeran, Sam Smith, One Direction, Jessie Ware, Ellie Goulding, Olly Murs, Rita Ora, Chris Martin (from Coldplay), Marcus Mumford (from Mumford and Sons), Bono, Sinead O’Connor, Bastille, Paloma Faith, Emile Sande, Seal, Clean Bandit, Angelique Kidjo, Elbow, Robert Plant, Underworld, and Nick Grimshaw, as well as YouTube favourites Zoe Sugg, Alfie Deyes, and Joe Sugg.

So sit back, enjoy this video of your favourite Brits singing in the studio for a good cause that some kind Bono fan posted for the world, and then buy the single because, we repeat, it’s for a good cause.
